Jean marie bell
Jean Marie Bell received her Bachelor of Science degree in Music Education from West Chester University, Pennsylvania, in December 1987 and her Masters in Music Education degree from University of North Carolina Pembroke in May 2006. Jean Marie began her music teaching career in 1989 in DoDDS (Department of Defense Dependent Schools) at Grafenwoehr and Vilseck Elementary Schools, while her husband was stationed for three years with the army in Germany. She is currently employed as a music educator for DDESS (Department of Dependent Elementary and Secondary Schools) at Fort Bragg, North Carolina. Jean Marie has been teaching general music, chorus, theory and composition at Albritton Junior High School for the last fourteen years. During this time, she has also been the senior accompanist at Arran Lake Baptist Church in Fayetteville, NC, and is currently serving as an active board member for Arran Lake Christian School.
Jean Marie began playing piano at the age of five; she accompanied her junior high, high school and college choirs in Pennsylvania. Jean Marie was also chosen as the accompanist for the Nether Providence Honor Chorus in her junior year while attending Ridley High School, under the direction of Robert Shaw.
In 2002, she was recipient of the Crystal Apple Award by Horace Mann and the Fort Bragg Association of Educators for her outstanding contributions to education. She was nominated by her peers for Teacher of the Year in 2004. Jean Marie is an active member of the NCMEA (North Carolina Music Educators Association). Many of her choral students have been selected and performed in the North Carolina Music Educators National Conference Honor Chorus. She is currently serving as a faculty representative at Albritton for the FEA (Federal Education Association.
Jean Marie has lived in Fayetteville, North Carolina for the past seventeen years with her husband, Stephen, and teenage sons, Jason and Benjamin.
