Any student participating in marching band who has participated in the UNCP “Spirit of the Carolinas” Marching Band (including guard), for at least one season, is eligible to run for one of the elected positions.
To run for an elected position you must fill out an application available from Mr. Spitzer’s office, 128 Moore Hall. You must also secure the signature of three other past or present marching band members who support your candidacy for the office. The signatures will be on the form mentioned above, and turned in to Mr. Spitzer by March 21. If your form and signatures are late, your name will not appear on the ballot.
Each of the offices above will be responsible for the obvious day to day responsibilities inferred by the title of the office. In addition you will be responsible for relaying attitudes and suggestions from the ensemble to the appropriate staff members, and motivating the ensemble toward the highest level of excellence possible. You will also be called upon to help plan social events, special events, and the Florida Trip.
Remember: If you are a member with a past history of “Rehearsal Attendance Deficit Disorder,” a leadership role is not probably a wise decision!
