Repertoire:  3 contrasting solos for jury (at least 1 by memory)

Semester 3 - Evaluation Forum

Semester 4 - Piano Proficiency Exams

Technique: All major and minor scales (76)

                   All major and minor arpeggios

                   Additional exercises as assigned

Repertoire:  4 contrasting solos (at least 2 by memory) including a Bach Invention, a classical sonata or sonatina movement, a romantic character piece, and a work from Bartok Mikrokosmos, Vol. V

Technique:   All major and minor scales (100)

                    Major scales in 3rds and 10ths

                    All major and minor arpeggios

                    Hanon: 3 new drills (quarter=132)

                   Harmonic minor scales in 3rds and 10ths

                   Major, minor, and diminished 7th arpeggios

                   Additional exercises/etudes as assigned

Repertoire:  3 contrasting solos for jury (at least 1 by memory)

 

Technique:   All major and minor scales (120)

                    All scales in 3rds, 6ths, and 10ths

                    Major, minor, diminished 7th, and dominant 7th arpeggios

                    Additional exercises/etudes as assigned

Repertoire:   3 contrasting solos for jury (at least 1 by memory)

                    Start senior recital repertoire (for semester 7 recital)

Semester 7

Semester 8 (if needed)

Technique: All major and minor scales (126)

                   All scales in 3rds, 6ths, and 10ths

                   All arpeggios

                   Additional exercises/etudes as assigned

Repertoire:  If Senior Recital Semester: 4 solo pieces, one from each                    stylistic period (30 minutes) (at least 2 by memory)

                   Otherwise: 3 contrasting solos for jury (at least 1 by

                   memory)

                  

Technique: All major and minor scales in octaves (132)

                   All scales in 3rds, 6ths, and 10ths

                   All arpeggios

                   Additional exercises/etudes as assigned

Repertoire:  If Senior Recital Semester: 4 solo pieces, one from each

                   stylistic period (30 minutes) (at least 2 by memory)

                   Otherwise: 3 contrasting solos for jury (at least 1 by
