The Department of Mass Communication offers an academic program leading to the Bachelor of Science Degree in Mass Communication. Students elect to follow one of these tracks:
Each student who enrolls in the program will complete a core of Mass Communication courses – including Introduction to Mass Communication, Writing for the Media, Mass Communication Research, and Mass Communication Law and Ethics – and academic coursework specific to her or his track. Each Mass Communications major also completes an appropriate professional internship in the field as well as a capstone course at the end of the program. The faculty encourages students to become involved with The Pine Needle campus newspaper, WNCP-TV, the Universityıs public affairs television station, and our chapter of PRSSA, the Public Relations Student Society of America.
