2004 Mathematics Awareness Week Contest:
Rules

  1. Each relay team is to consist of four (4) members. Each participant must be currently enrolled as a full-time or part-time student at UNCP.

  2. The contest will be held in Mandelbrot 170 of the Temporary Math and Science Complex at 10:15 a.m. on Wednesday, April 14.

  3. The relay contest will consist of four legs:
  • The first leg of the race will consist of an introduction to College Mathematics problem.
  • The second leg of the race will consist of a College Algebra problem.
  • The third leg of the race will consist of a statistics problem.
  • The fourth leg of the race will consist of a calculus problem.
  1. Each team must submit a roster of the participants' names and phone numbers to Mrs. Connie Hawk, Rigel 102, no later than 5:00 p.m., Tuesday, April 13, 2004.

  2. The winning team will be the first team to submit an answer sheet with all correct answers. In case there are no perfect answer sheets, the team submitting the most correct answers in the shortest amount of times will win. Prizes will be awarded to the winning team members.

  3. Pencils, erasers, and calculators are allowed, but no textbooks or other reference books may be used.
