Taking the Undergraduate Senior Seminar

The Director of Graduate Studies will consider a graduate student’s request to have a 4000 level seminar crosslisted at the 5000 level when

1. the graduate student requires a third course to retain his/her status as a full-time student, or
2. the graduate student has taken all course offerings available during a given semester, or
3. no literature course is available in a given semester (and the graduate student’s emphasis is literature), or
4. the graduate student presents another compelling reason for enrolling in a 4000 literature seminar to the Graduate Director.

If one or more of these four conditions is met, the Graduate Director will confer with the instructor of the 4000 level seminar, and with his/her permission, will grant the graduate student’s request. Candidates must then complete the Elective Transfer Form to document this substitution.
