ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Dr. Jordan teaches theatre and communication classes; his emphasis is on communication and is audience centered rather than content centered. As both communication and theatre content is focused on communication, his classes are skilled oriented–aimed at developing a proficiency in each student to pursue his/her personal ability the highest attainable qualities of communication, be it on the stage, before a group, or in a one-to-one conversation. Dr. Jordan teaches Interpersonal Communication, Discussion and Debate, Stage Directing, Theatre History, and Theatre Management and Arts Administration, as well as courses such as Teaching Speech and Theatre.
Dr. Jordan’s research focuses on small, pre-1900 opera houses of the Rocky Mountain region. He has also pursued the economic development of small theatres in the Appalachian region. His hobby is serving as Parliamentarian for various state and arts organizations.
