Information About the Manual

The Policies and Procedures Manual of the Mary Livermore Library of The University of North Carolina at Pembroke is intended to be an informational guide for library users and employees concerning the most general and visible of library policies and practices. The various work areas within the Library have available function-specific manuals which are of interest and concern primarily to employees in those work areas.

Contained in this manual are three sections, General Information, Library Use Information and Policies, and Library Personnel Policies. A number of the policies relate to University-wide ones, and they have been interpreted as they relate to the library setting.

The manual will be updated as needed, or at least annually as pertains to job description updates, the organizational chart, library committee assignments, and review of the Mission Statement and Collection Development/Selection Policy.

Distribution of the manual and updates will be to all library EPA and SPA employees. A copy of the manual is available at all library service desks and is also available online at the Library’s website, www.uncp.edu/library/.
