The Friends of the Library present "A Fall Faculty Showcase" featuring UNCP faculty introducing their new publications on September 16, 2009 in the main reading room of the Mary Livermore Library. Speaking are Dr. Stan Knick and Dr. Martin Slann.
The Friends of the Library present "A Fall Faculty Showcase" featuring UNCP faculty introducing their new books and DVD on September 10, 2008 in the main reading room of the Mary Livermore Library. Speaking are Dr. David Oxendine on Perceived Fairness of An Ethnic Validation Procedure: Implications for Lumbee Federal Recognition, and Dr. Youngsuk Chae on Politicizing Asian American Literature: towards a Critical Multiculturalism . Remarks by faculty will begin at 10:15 a.m. and will be followed by a reception.
The Friends of the Library will present a second “Fall Faculty Showcase” on October 15, 2008. Presenting will be Dr. Stan Knick introducing Listen to the Drum: A Closer Look at American Indian Powwow Music and Our people: Occaneechi Band of Saponi Nation, and Dr. Rick Crandall discussing New Methods of Competing in the Global Marketplace: Critical Success Factors from Service and Manufacturing. Remarks by faculty will begin at 10:15 a.m. and will be followed by a reception.
On September 30, Rob Christensen will discuss The Paradox of Tar Heel Politics: The Personalities, Elections, and Events that Shaped Modern North Carolina at 7:00 p.m. in the main reading room of the Mary Livermore Library. A reception and book signing will follow.
On October 28, Joanna Catherine Scott will discuss The Road from Chapel Hill in the main reading room of the Mary Livermore Library at 7:00 p.m. A reception and book signing opportunity will follow.
On February 3, 2009, Spring Council, daughter of Mamma Dip (Mildred Council) will be discussing her mother’s books, Mamma Dip’s Family Cookbook and Mamma Dip’s Kitchen. The discussion will take place in the main reading room of the Mary Livermore Library at 7:00 p.m. A reception and book signing opportunity will follow.
