sino-American 1+2+1 Dual Degree Program

Overview

The Sino-American 1+2+1 Dual Degree Program, organized and administrated by CCIEE and AASCU, is a new form of international educational cooperation with two-way student and faculty exchanges between Chinese and American universities. CCIEE and AASCU select qualified public universities to participate in the program. A total of 80 universities have participated in this program by the end of November, 2007.

UNCP joined a coalition of five U.S. and 32 Chinese universities to offer dual-degree program for Chinese students, and signed agreements with 10 Chinese universities in March 2005, when the CCIEE delegation visited the campus.

Since 2005, UNCP has received 29 students from the partner universities in China. The first cohort of 7 students, have returned to their home universities for their 4th year of study and will be graduating in the summer of 2008 with dual degrees.

The Graduates

The first cohort of six students graduated June the 24th, 2008 in Kunming, Yunnan, China.

Student Life

At UNCP, CCIEE students not only get education with a personal touch, but also have the opportunity to experience American life, participate in traditional Chinese celebrations, and cultural activities.
