Pädagogische Hochschule Ludwigsburg situated approximately 20 km north of Stuttgart, the capital of Baden-Württemberg, Ludwigsburg with its 85,000 inhabitants is the centre of a greater urban district and belongs to the Central Neckar Region. Thanks to its convenient central position in south-west Germany, Ludwigsburg is within relatively easy reach of many interesting places and regions. It is about 2 hours to France (Strasbourg and Alsace) and 4 to Austria and Switzerland. On the doorstep are the Swabian Uplands (the "Alb") and the Black Forest, both of which offer opportunities for hiking in the summer and skiing in the winter. Lake Constance is also not far away.
