COMMUNICATION
Essential to the success of your study abroad experience is the establishment of appropriate communication channels between you and the various communities in which you operate. It is important to establish your means of communication early upon arrival at your destination. The various constituencies you need to communicate with are:
Your host university program coordinator: Every study abroad program will have a host contact that is responsible for your welfare. You should know who this person is and how to contact him/her at your study abroad location. The program director is the first person to contact when attempting to solve problems on site.
Your home university study abroad coordinator: This person will best be able to assist you if your on-site program coordinator is not able to help you. The coordinator can also represent your interests in the event problems should arise while you are away from campus. The coordinator is particularly able to assist you when you find yourself in situations that involve cultural sensitivity and/or interpretation to best address any difficulties that may arise.
