Mrs. Edkins is in her 20th year at UNCP. She is a Senior Lecturer in the Health, Physical Education and Recreation Department and has served as the Program Director for the Athletic Training Education Program since October 2004. Prior to becoming the Program Director, Edkins served as the Clinical Coordinator.
Her primary teaching responsibilities include: Introduction to Athletic Training, General Medical Conditions, Pharmacology, Organization and Administration of Athletic Training, and Clinical Education V.
Edkins previously served several positions within the Athletic Department, including Head Athletic Trainer, Assistant Athletic Director, Compliance Officer, and Senior Woman Administrator.
She is a 1989 graduate from UNC Chapel Hill where she earned a B.A in Biology and a B.S. in Physcial Education. Edkins earned her M.S. in Physical Education and Human Movement Studies from the University of Oregon in 1991, while serving as a graduate assistant athletic trainer for the Ducks' athletic program.
She is married to Brian Edkins, a former UNCP soccer standout, who is the Principal at South View Senior High School in Hope Mills, NC. The couple resides in Lumberton and are the parents of two sons.

beverly justice, MS, LAT, ATC, Senior Lecturer/ATEP CLINICAL COORDINATOR
Ms. Justice is in her 17th year at UNC Pembroke and has served as the Athletic Training Education Program's Clinical Coordinator since November 2004. As Clinical Coordinator, Justice is responsible for overseeing the clinical education component of the Athletic Training Education Program as well as coordinating all of the clinical rotations the ATEP's students perform, both on- and off-campus. In addition, she serves as a Senior Lecturer in the Health, Physical Education and Recreation Department.
Her primary teaching responsibilities include Lower Extremity Assessment and lab, Upper Extremity Assessment and lab, Clinical Education I, and Clinical Education IV.
Justice previously served as the Head Volleyball Coach at UNC Pemborke for seven seasons and the Assistant Athletic Trainer for 11 years. She also served as the assistant volleyball coach and assistant women's basketball coach during her tenure at UNC Pembroke.
The Whiteville, NC native graduated from UNC Pembroke (then Pembroke State University) in 1992 with a BS in Health, Physical Education and Recreation: Athletic Training. She then became a graduate assistant athletic trainer at Western Michigan University where she earned her masters degree in Physical Education.

Micheal Blackburn joined UNCP in August 2009 as the Head Athletic Trainer. He serves as an Approved Clinical Instructor for the Athletic Training Education Program in his primary sport assignments of football and wrestling. His primary teaching assignments are Healthful Living and Anatomy and Physiology.
skye livermore, MPa, LAT, ATC

Skye Livermore rejoined the Athletic Training staff as a full-time Lecturer and Assistant Athletic Trainer in October 2008. She provides primary care for the Braves’ women's soccer and women's basketball teams and spring soccer (men's and women's), as well as serving as an approved clinical instructor for UNC Pembroke’s athletic training education Education Program. Her primary teaching responsibilities include Therapeutic Modalities and the lab and Clinical Education III.
Livermore previously served as a graduate assistant athletic trainer for the Braves for two years. Prior to her first arrival at UNCP, Livermore spent two years at Fayetteville State University as the Assistant Athletic Trainer. While at FSU, Livermore served as an ACI for UNC Pembroke. She also served as an Assistant Athletic Trainer at Methodist University in Fayetteville for one year.
A native of New Mexico, Livermore is a 2002 graduate of New Mexico State University and a 2007 graduate of the Public Adminstration Masters program at UNCP. She is married to James Brasher and resides in Raeford, N.C.

Natalie Myers joined the staff in August 2009 after completing her graduate degree at California University of Pennsylvania. She provides primary care for wrestling during the fall semester and softball throughout the year, while also serving as an Approved Clinical Instructor for the ATEP. Her primary teaching responsibilities within the ATEP are Clinical Education II and Therapeutic Exercise and the laboratory.

James Daley joined the staff in August 2009 after completing his graduate degree at California University of Pennsylvania. He provides primary care for Men's Soccer and Men's Basketball in addition to providing care during the off-season for both Men's and Women's Soccer. He serves as an ACI in the ATEP and his primary teaching responsibilities include Anatomy and Physiology and the BOC Preparation course.
