FALL CLOSING information

FALL SEMESTER CLOSING

The traditional residence halls close for Fall Semester on Friday, December 7, 2012, at 5:00pm.

The University Village Apartments close on Saturday, December 15, 2012, at noon.  (Village and Courtyard residents needing to reside at the apartment during the break should notify their Resident Administrator.  For safety and security reasons, an approved list of names will be forwarded to Campus Police.  Minimal services will be available. 

Before leaving for the semester, please remember to:

  1. Empty all trash from your room.
  2. Lock your windows.
  3. Unplug ALL items from electrical system. (except refrigerators and aquariums)
  4. Make sure all food and drinks are removed or sealed properly.
  5. Check to make sure ALL items which produce heat are disconnected.
  6. Turn off any alarm clocks/timed devices.
  7. Turn out ALL lights.
  8. LOCK YOUR DOOR!  Double check your windows and door(s).

**Remember to pack your airplane tickets, medicines and other important items

CHECK-OUT INFORMATION

Students who have been released from their Housing Agreement must be checked out of their rooms by a member of the Housing staff.  Your RA has the Room Inventory Form which you signed when you moved in at the beginning of the academic year.  Each resident is responsible for submitting their Room Inventory Form and their key(s) to the Housing Office located on the second floor in the UC Annex.  Office hours are Monday-Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.  Students who check out after 5:00 p.m. or on Saturday after Commencement may turn in their form and key(s) to the Resident Administrator.

It is expected that a student check out 24 hours following their last exam.  The RA will inventory each resident’s room at the time of check out.  Any damaged or missing items will be recorded on the Room Inventory Form and appropriate charges will be made.  Post office box keys should be turned in to the Post Office staff.
