The North Carolina Association of Historians offers opportunities for historians in all fields — American, Non-Western, European, state and local — to meet and discuss research and exchange ideas with colleagues throughout the state of North Carolina.

Call for Papers for the Association's Annual Meeting on March 26-27, 2010

The Association's next annual meeting will be held on the campus of Barton College in Wilson, North Carolina on March 26-27, 2010.  Historians interested in presenting papers should send an abstract and a brief c.v. to Professor Jeff Broadwater at the Department of History and Social Sciences, Barton College, Wilson, N.C. 27893.  Undergraduate and Graduate students are also invited to submit proposals to Professor Broadwater.  Prizes are awarded for outstanding paers, which may be considered for publication  in NCAH's Journal.  Follow the Call for Papers link for submission guidelines and forms.  The deadline for the submission of proposals is February 1, 2010.  Information about area accommodations will be posted in the Spring and sent to all participants.

Prizes for Papers Presented at the Annual Meeting

Papers presented at the annual meeting are eligible for consideration for the Association's Prizes.  The Brewster Prize is for college or university faculty.  In addition, there are prizes for Undergraduate and Graduate student papers.  Prize-winning papers are considered for publication in the Association's Journal.

The Journal of the North Carolina Association of Historians

The Association publishes the Journal of the North Carolina Association of Historians (ISSN 1078-4330).  The Journal features articles in all fields of History and a generous selection of book reviews.  Historians interested in submitting articles for possible publication should send them to Professor James Martin, Department of History, Campbell University, P.O. Box 567, Buies Creek, NC 27506.   Submissions should be in MS Word.  For additional information about the Journal, please contact Professor Martin.  Books for review should be send also be sent to Professor Martin.  Potential book reviewers are invited to advise Professor Martin of their areas of interest and expertise.  For submission guidelines, click here.

Annual Dues

Annual dues for the North Carolina Association of Historians are $20.00.  Student dues are $10.00.  All active members receive a copy of the Association's Journal.  Dues should be sent to Professor James I.
