The Maisonpierres are husband and wife
piano duettists from Laurinburg, North Carolina. They teach at the University
of North Carolina at Pembroke and perform frequently in recitals of
piano duets. They are 1984 DMA graduates of University of Maryland where
they studied piano with Dr. Stewart Gordon. Their dissertation recording
project was done jointly on "Twenty-three Sonatas or Sonata-related
Works Written for Piano Duet in the Twentieth Century." Their programs
often include works from this project in addition to other piano duet
repertoire.
