The content of this course includes a discussion of computer hardware, computer software, the history of computing, and typical applications of computers. A significant amount of time is devoted to such applications as word processing, spreadsheets, databases, and graphics. Additional topics for discussion include a brief introduction to computer languages, effects of computers on society and the individual, data communications, and artificial intelligence.
