  • AIAS was formed July 2001. The initial interest meeting was held April 2001 during Native American Awareness Weekend at NCSU.
  • NC State has the second largest Native American student population of any university in North Carolina, behind only The University of North Carolina at Pembroke.
  • The Native American Awareness Weekend, which includes a student banquet and powwow, is held each April at NCSU.
