Identify and label the adjectivals in the following sentences.
 
  1. The Wasatch Mountain Range in Utah is regal and majestic with its snow-capped peaks that glisten during sunset.
  2. The elderly lady who lives down the street is my aunt.
  3. The weather during January was wet and dreary because of El Nino.
  4. The energetic, playful toddlers are attending the Sunshine Day-Care and Learning Center.
For the following sentences, fill in the blank slot with an adjectival.  Identify any other adjectivals in the sentence.  Answers may vary.
  1. Ford Motor Company recently unveiled their new, sporty version of the 1999 Mercury Cougar.
  2. Life is like a box of chocolates.
  3. The literature study group discusses their next meeting, which will focus on poetry.
For the following sentences, write a sentence using the designated type of adjectival.
  1. Participial phrase: The woman laughing in the hall is my aunt.
  2. Adjectival prepositional phrase: The casinos along the boardwalk in Atlantic City, N.J., are exciting.
  3. Appositive:  My best friend, Melanie, is in Ecuador.
