At the age of 35, Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., became the youngest person
to receive the Nobel Peace Prize on this day in 1964. A highly respected
civil rights leader, King once said, "Darkness cannot drive out darkness;
only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can
do that." His life exemplified that philosophy.
