What's on the Second Life campus of the University of North Carolina at Pembroke?

Twelve large, adjacent venues form the campus of UNCP in Second Life. The architecture of the campus is a pair of stacks of sky platforms side-by-side in the Dotoorak region of the SL mainland near the ocean. Each is an ample 100m x 50m flat rectangle. There also are additional smaller platforms.

The original five levels are referred to as the Main Campus, while five levels added more recently form the West Annex. On the other side of the Main Campus is the East Annex, which has the Newbie Convenience Center sandbox at ground level near the campus Welcome Center and also the Maintenance Shop in the sky at about the altitude of a level 2 platform. The newest land parcels under development are at the center of the Dotoorak region and are referred to as Central Campus.

Level 0 is ground level and the level numbers in each stack go up from there to level 4, which is at the highest altitude in use by UNCP at this time. Levels 5 to 10 are available, but not constructed.

Level 0 = 50m, on the ground, just above sea level
Level 1 = 250m
Level 2 = 325m
Level 3 = 400m
Level 4 = 475m

SANDBOX

The Newbie Convenience Center and Rest Station is a place where anyone can build things, transfer clothes or other necessities to their inventory, and change clothes in private. It has a small house for privacy as well as a huge backyard where large and small objects can be constructed.

NEIGHBORHOOD

The surrounding area in Dotoorak and nearby regions is much like a typical college town with residences, small shops, a mall, and fields with rolling hills. The Second Life ocean is nearby east of campus with the closest approach at Stone's Harbor, which has a close affiliation with UNCP.

A search for "UNCP" in the SL Search engine in-world will turn up the land profile with a teleport button to the campus welcome area. However, the list below is more precise in locating more than 50 places in particular on campus.
