UNCP in Second Life: The UNCP Art Gallery

The UNCP Art Gallery in Second Life on the virtual world campus of the University of North Carolina at Pembroke is a four-level indoor-outdoor exhibition facility.

Its many halls display a large variety of 3D virtual-reality artworks all constructed in Second Life and acquired from residents from all over the virtual world.

The UNCP Art Gallery has a companion exhibition island outdoors among the clouds, Stone's Point Sculpture Garden.

The Art Gallery is a four-story building outfitted with:

• four floors of exhibition halls
• many digital art exhibitions
• dance floor on the roof
• sculpture garden floating platform
• media players and social media links
• conference and work tables with chairs
• computers with Internet and email connections
• live-video screens for program streams entering Second Life from the real world
• shared media, parcel media and prim media
• text, voice and video communication via Internet email and Skype telephone
• informative documentation
