The school's commitment is to provide the very best preparation programs for teachers, administrators, counselors, and other education professionals in partnership with public schools and other agencies.
The faculty, administrators and staff are committed to:Through partnership work, the school seeks to improve K-12 student achievement and the professional education programs in which they are engaged. The contributions of many assist in reaching the goal of providing high quality education programs.

- equipping the graduates with the necessary knowledge and skills for the current and future marketplace

- extensive collaboration with their partners.

The School of Education is composed of five academic departments:Students and faculty studying at the virtual School of Education can be dispersed anywhere in the real world. The complex is outfitted with:
- Educational Specialties [B-K Education - UG, Special Education - UG, Reading Education - G];
- Elementary Education [UG-G];
- Health, Physical Education, and Recreation offers undergraduate programs in Athletic Training, Exercise and Sport Science, Health Promotion, Recreation Management/Administration, and Physical Education (K-12).
- Professional Pedagogy and Research {MAT in all content areas, Middle Grades - G];
- School Administration and Counseling [MSA, Mental Health Counseling - G, School Counseling - G].
SLURL is short for Second Life URL, a Web address. SLURL's are direct links from the Web to locations inside Second Life. The SLURL for Astronomy Hall is:

- sandbox nearby for quick builds as well as more extensive construction projects
