The Internet Archive...Stuff on the Internet
An ocean of media content is available on the Internet. There is content from articles, books, magazines, newspapers, journals, pamphlets, press releases, TV and radio broadcasts, films, video, photos, songs, audio, just about anything you can imagine can be found on the World Wide Web today.
Cultural artifacts are the memory of civilization. They allow humans to learn from their successes and failures. Libraries preserve cultural artifacts and provide access to them, including artifacts such as those from this era of digital technology.
The Internet Archive attempts to prevent the digital materials of the Internet – a medium of major historical significance – from disappearing into the past. The Archive collaborates with the Library of Congress, the Smithsonian Institution and Internet libraries to preserve a record for future generations.
The Archive gives open and free access to our digital materials. It collections are open to researchers, historians, and scholars. Here are links to some of its massive collections:
