There are people in the world who love to travel. Some have been to Spain, Hawaii, New Zealand, and even India. Vidya Vudata didnít just visit India though; she lived there. Born in Rajahmundry, India, Vudata spent the better part of her early and adolescent years moving around India.
Raj Vudata, her father and a mechanical engineer at the time, had a job that constantly moved him and his family around.
Every 3 years Vudata would move to a different part of India, including Mumbai and New Delhi; New Delhi is still one of her favorite places.
While living in India, hanging out at school was one of Vudataís favorite pastimes where she had a variety of activities to participate in, activities that included singing, dancing, horseback riding, and martial arts. Vudata especially enjoyed the martial arts where she earned a green belt. Unfortunately, Vudata had to leave that behind has she had to move again.
At one point, Vudataís fatherís job kept him separated from Vudata and her mother for 5 years. However, a job change and another relocation would reunite Vudata and her family with her father. It would also bring them to the United States.
Life was different for Vudata in the United States, but after moving around all her life, adjusting to life in the U.S. proved easy for Vudata.
Vudata felt no major culture shocks when she came to the United States, her mind was open to anything. When her fatherís job took him and her mother to California, Vudata remained in Virginia with her aunt and uncle, finishing up her last year of high school there.
After high school, she joined her father in California and attended a college there for three years.
Yet again, her fatherís job would move them, this time to Raleigh, N.C. where she transferred to the University of North Carolina Pembroke to pursue a major in biology.
Even though Vudata favors the west coast over North Carolina, she does enjoy UNC-Pembrokeís small size and the professors who provide individual attention to the students in classrooms.
