Paris: one of the most famous and popular places in Europe. Not many people get to see Paris, but for two weeks 19-year-old Nicholas Grice, did. Despite having visited France over five years ago, it still remains an unforgettable experience for him.

In 1995 Grice, along with his Aunt and members from her church, took a trip to Paris on a ministry mission. Along the way Grice had an opportunity to see various parts of Paris including the Eiffel Tower and Notre Dame.

Grice explained how Paris was very westernized with American fast-food restaurants. Still, Grice had the pleasure of eating at restaurants and delis in Paris, as well as the fresh food from the markets.

According to Grice, the French werenít known for their breakfasts, preferring a light meal or nothing. Yet, their dinners and lunches were events Grice remembered with relish.

Grice also found the people to be friendly and more open both culturally and politically at the time he visited.

Last, but not least, was Griceís visit to Euro-Disney, a trip he took on his second week in Paris. The hotels were very nice even if the rides were similar to those in the U.S. Grice brought home various souvenirs such as T-shirts, a mini-Eiffel Tower, and some perfume for his mother.

For anyone who wants to travel abroad, Grice says, ìBe prepared for any and everything.î

Grice is a sophomore at the University of North Carolina Pembroke with a major in History. He says he would love to buy a house in London or Paris.
