Below are some questions you can ask yourself to see if you might be an alcoholic:
1. Do you find it difficult to stop after one or two drinks?
2. Do you sometimes think that you have to drink to have a good time?
3. Have you ever tried to cut down on your drinking?
4. Have you ever drunk alcohol in the morning?
5. Do you drink to forget your worries?
6. Have you ever had a drink while driving or have you ever driven while under the influence of alcohol?
7. Have you ever drunk until passing out?
8. Are more than half of your friend’s drinkers?
9. Do you consume more than seven alcoholic beverages a week?
10. Do you drink alcohol while at work?
11. Do you keep a bottle in your apartment or car so it will always be handy if you need it?
12. Do you hide your drinking from any friends or family?
13. Have you ever felt annoyed when someone talked to you about your drinking?
14. Have you failed to keep a promise to yourself or a loved one that you would quit drinking?
15. Have you ever had trouble remembering what happened while you were drinking?
16. Have you done anything while drinking that you regret doing?
17. Have you ever awaken after drinking in a strange place and been unable to remember how you got there?
