Primary Care Exposure Activity

Students who meet the selection criteria listed below.

Applicants must:

• Be a:
  1. former HCOP college student that has successfully completed a Summer Enrichment Program OR
  2. college student enrolled at UNCP OR
  3. recommended college student enrolled at Robeson Community College
• Be a US Citizen
• Have a minimum grade point average of 2.5 on a 4.0 scale in good standing with the enrolled institution
• Have an interest in becoming a health professional
• Complete an application in detail
• Obtain a good letter of recommendation from student academic advisor
• One page student essay

Summer Enrichment Program

Students who meet the selection criteria listed below.

Applicants must:

• Be economically and/or educationally disadvantaged
• Be a high school senior or incoming college freshman enrolled at a university or college
• Be a US Citizen
• Have a minimum grade point average of 2.5 on a 4.0 scale
• Have a SAT composite score that meets UNCP admissions requirements
• Have a minimum of 2 years of high school Math (Algebra 1, Algebra II, Geometry)
• Have a minimum of 2 years of high school sciences (Physical and Biological Sciences)
• Have a minimum of 2 years of high school English
• Complete an application in detail
• Obtain three letters of recommendation from a counselor and science & math teachers
• One page student essay

Preference will be given to students who are enrolled or graduate from an accredited U.S. high school. Participants will be selected on the basis of their interest in pursuing a health professions career, relevant coursework and grades, personal essay, letters of recommendation, and their ability to contribute to the goal of the program.

Mr. & Ms Wizard Program

Students who meet the selection criteria listed below.

Applicants must:

• Be economically and/or educationally disadvantaged
• Be a 6th grader enrolled at a middle school in the Public Schools of Robeson County
• Be a US Citizen
• Obtain three letters of recommendation from a counselor and science & math teachers
• Complete application in detail
• Student photo attached to application
• Copy of student transcript or last report card
• One page student essay
