Avon T. Banks, III-2009
Through CHSP I have obtained a better understanding of what goes on in clinics throughout the day and more importantly, to me at least, what role a physician plays in that day. With these experiences, I’m only fueled more to achieving my goals and proceeding with my dream to one day be a physician.
Olivia Z. Bird-2009
Since pharmacies do a lot of dealing with people, it is vital to be a people-person. It takes patient, practice, and even a little self control to be able to manage it. Working in a pharmacy and dealing with people’s medications is a very crucial job. Having this amazing opportunity, there is no doubt in my mind that I want to go to school to be a pharmacist.
Jarrod T. Bullard -2009
My CHSP experience has been one that has been filled with memorable experiences that I will remember always. I also saw firsthand, what things I will see as a dermatologist or pathologist in the future. This summer will be a remembrance to me to show that the medical field is one of the most fascinating careers in the world and that you never know what the next day will hold for a doctor.
Cynthia M. Correa -2009
The summer clinical program is a great opportunity to get hands on experience in the medical field. I want to become a physician and this was the perfect program for me. The first couple of weeks I worked with the nurses and followed them around the office. They taught me how to work a patient in the triage.
A. Michelle Hammonds -2009
Overall, I loved my role as an HCAP intern. When my time at my site is over I will carry with me my experience and its entirety as a tool to help me in any way redeemable. Although I am completely satisfied with pediatrics, I’m unsure of whether I’ll go straight in after PA school. However, I have never been surer of going to PA school than I am now.
Chelsey L. Locklear -2009
My clinical experience has reassured me that pharmacy is definitely the career I want to pursue. I’ve learned so many things that I know will help me in my journey of becoming a pharmacist. I like every aspect of what a pharmacist does on a day to day basis and I love the connections that the pharmacist has with each of their customers.
Melinda C. Locklear -2009
Not only did this internship open my eyes to what actually goes on in a medical setting, but it also confirmed that my passion of being a dermatologist was exactly what I wanted in life. I believe that all of my life experiences have been necessary to bring me to this point. I look forward to my future with great anticipation, and know that the time has finally come for me to realize my dreams.
Leslie G. Lovette -2009
The most enjoyable part of my experience has been the knowledge I have gained. I have learned information that I believe will help me now and in the future when I work towards being a pharmacist. I have not only learned information about various drugs, but also how some of them are made. I hope that when I do become a pharmacist I will be able to help students the way I have been helped during this program.
Iner T. Lowery -2009
I know now that Pharmacy is what I want to do for the entirety of my life. I learned so many new things and they were all interesting and intriguing. I feel so much better since I participated in the program. This opportunity has given me much needed experience and has reinforced my decision to pursue a degree in the pharmacy field.
Jannaka L. Oxendine -2009
Since my experience, I am even more confident that this is the life for me. The behind-the-scene work allowed me to job shadow a tremendous doctor, mingle with patients, and converse with health care employees. This experience has been a real eye opener; it has help set the foundation for years to come. I have extremely enjoyed this internship. I am grateful for the opportunity to “reassure” my direction in the medical field.
