Joining a Fraternity or Sorority
In an effort to fully advance fraternal values at the University of North Carolina at Pembroke, incoming freshmen will be eligible for the pursuit of fraternal membership as of August 15, 2007.
Please keep in mind that many Inter/National organizations require a minimum number of earned college credits, high grade point average, campus involvement in non-Greek organizations, as well as a proven commitment to values.
Groups Not Recognized By UNCP
The following organizations have been suspended by UNCP as well as the National Headquarters of the organization. Both organizations are suspended until at least 2012 due to risk management violations.
Tau Kappa Epsilon
Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc.
Accepting membership into an organization not eligible to have members due to the Group's suspension or withdrawal of recognition is a violation of the student code of conduct.
Panhellenic Association (PHA) Recruitment
Recruitment is the time when fraternities and sororities seek and recruit new members. Each council or individual organization may conduct recruitment. During this period, interested students have the opportunity to visit organizations and see what each has to offer. PHA recruitment is September 15 - 19, 2008.
