Destino is fast becoming Canada`s classical crossover sensation following the recent Canadian release of their critically acclaimed CD FORTE, the return from an exclusive performance engagement at the 2008 Beijing Summer Olympics and some of Canada's renowned summer music festivals. Classically trained, award winning professional tenors Paul Ouellette, Joey Niceforo and Hans Munoz form Destino. Before collaborating as a trio, the three Canadian vocalists were in established solo careers, performing pop, opera, gospel, soul, R&B, jazz and musical theatre. Destino has received critical acclaim, selling out concert halls in Canada and the U.S. Their music is best described as 'popera' or 'pop with an opera flair,' that is sweeping musical charts thanks to internationally renowned recording artists like Andrea Bocelli, Josh Groban, Mario Frangoulis, Russell Watson, and many others.

NC Youth Tap Ensemble

Tickets: $10Adults / $5 child or student

The North Carolina Youth Tap Ensemble (NCYTE) is not your average youth dance ensemble; in fact it is not your average dance company at all. The company presents an incredibly unique performance, featuring cutting edge contemporary choreography and traditional rhythm tap as it was danced in its prime.

Imagine Stomp, Riverdance, Vaudeville, Fred Astaire and Bring In Da Noise all on the same bill — that’s NCYTE! The style of percussive dances includes South African Gumboot, sand dancing, buck, a salute to vaudeville, body percussion, jazz, and much more. The music featured may be Blind Boy Fuller, Brubeck or Mozart. This non-stop percussive dance review is a trip through time and into the future of an American art form.  The list of choreographers reads like a “Who’s Who” in the tap world, including Michelle Dorrance, Brenda Bufalino, and the legendary Savion Glover.*

Teachable Moments:  Origins of tap dancing. Making music without traditional instruments.
