The Cashore Marionettes

Unmatched in artistry, grace and refinement of movement, the Cashore Marionettes redefine the art of puppetry. Award-winning artist Joseph Cashore creates and manipulates these amazingly lifelike marionettes in a performance of brilliance and beauty. The program is a series of touching character portrayals and scenes from everyday life set to a succession of stunning original and classical music including Vivaldi, Strauss, Beethoven, and Copeland. The original vignettes celebrate life and explore a range of emotions.

lvania Council on the Arts, a state agency; and The Pew Charitable Trusts; and administered by Mid Atlantic Arts Foundation.
Holiday Extravaganza

The UNCP Music Department will present the first annual "Holiday Extravaganza". This concert will feature 21 different groups with over a hundred performers total. All of your favorite holiday music will be performed.
Here are some of the groups performing: Faculty Jazz Trio w/ Dr. Karen Hall and Hal Davis ("Baby It's Cold Outside"), Steel Drum Band ("We Three Kings"), Sax Quartet ("God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen"), R & B Ensemble ("This Christmas"), Piano four hands ("Simple Gifts"), Brass Quintet ("Go Tell It on the Mountain/I Saw Three Ships"), Low Brass Ensemble ("Shepherd's Dance"), Elvis ("Blue Christmas"), Trumpet Ensemble ("Joy to the World"), Concert Choir ("Il est ne le divine Enfant"), Pembroke Singers ("We Need a Little Christmas"), Voice and Guitar ("White Christmas/I'll Be Home for Christmas"), Marimba Quartet ("Silent Night"), Faculty Jazz Trio ("The Christmas Song"), The UNCP Band and Choirs ("Holiday Sing Along/Hallelujah Chorus"), and MORE!
The Holiday Extravaganza will support scholarships for the music department. Tickets are available at the GPAC box office.
UNCP Idol Contest

Givens Performing Arts Center is hosting the "UNCP Idol Contest" in conjunction with the January 13 production of "Ain't Misbehavin". Ain't Misbehavin stars Idol headliners Ruben Studdard and Frenchie Davis.
Registration is at GPAC through December 3.
Winners will receive tickets to the Ain't Misbehavin performance, memorabilia and other prizes.
