I Love a Piano is an enchanting musical journey spanning seven decades of American history as seen through the perceptive and hopeful eyes of Irving Berlin.
Using 64 of Berlin’s enduring and popular favorites, I Love a Piano captures the spirit of America from the Ragtime rhythms of the early 20th century through the swinging sophistication of the 1920s and ’30s, from the sentimental songs that inspired a nation during two World Wars to the optimism of the 1950s. Timeless classics such as “White Christmas,” “God Bless America,” “Puttin’ on the Ritz” and “There’s No Business like Show Business” do more than define the music of a generation: they define the music of our country.

A spirited, fun-filled sleigh ride through seasonal favorites, with the piano’s keyboard in the hands of a true master. In Pandolfi’s holiday celebration concert, the audience basks the most glorious and well-loved songs of the season.
For those hearing Pandolfi for their first time, it’s like being dipped in warm, fine, rich chocolate –it’s just too delectable to leave. For those who are back time after time, it is a joyous return visit to greet a close friend. Pianist Emile Pandolfi has taken a god-given gift of a tremendous musical talent, honed it with years of classical piano study and technique, lightly blended it with his engaging sense of humor and years of doing stand-up comedy gigs – and come out with a hybrid performance unlike any other pianist working today. Part Debussy, part Lloyd Webber. Part Victor Borge, part Broadway classics. But it is all Pandolfi, with lush, luxurious arrangements of popular and classical repertoire that “seems to go to the music’s very soul.” (Stereophile Magazine).

There is a fine tradition in the British Army of bands providing musical support to troops on active service. It engenders a unique espirit-de-corps and during both World Wars the Band regularly travelled to active service areas in order to give morale-boosting performances to the troops. During World War II in particular, the commitments of the Band had so intensified that its strength was increased to 65 musicians.
