MANAGEMENT

Stage Manager’s Console:

Console located in open Control Booth at the center rear of auditorium.
Clearcom PL Pro MS-232, two channel production communication system

Rehearsal Room: Located on third floor, Room 310.

Crews: The GPAC is a non-union house.

Student technical assistants and temporary workers will perform work required.
Broadway shows generally use combination of I.A.T.S.E. and student crews.
Student Assistants are paid employees and are NOT considered volunteers.

Policies:

House opens ½ hour prior to curtain.
Normal curtain is 8:00pm
Building is a smoke free environment.

Box Office:

Located in Lobby.
Tickets are handled by GPAC Box Office Personnel.
Student ushers are signed up on an as needed bases.

American seating plan with 4 vomitory exits to the lobby.
Seating capacity 1655 (10 seats removed for wheelchair section).
Audience is divided into lower and upper sections with a crosswalk between.
Lower section has a 9-degree rake.
Upper section has a 20-degree rake.

All incidentals such as industrial iron, steamer, and a washer and dryer are available in Greenroom.

Green Room and Dressing Room Accessibility Policy

The Givens Performing Arts Center is not currently equipped with
an elevator. Both the Green Room and Dressing Rooms are
located on the second floor of the facility.

In the event that any authorized performer or guest is unable to gain
access to the green room due to mobility restrictions, all hospitality
functions shall be moved to a more suitable, fully accessible location.

In the event that any authorized performer or guest is unable to gain
access to the dressing rooms due to mobility restrictions, temporary
dressing facilities will be constructed using pipe and drape on the first
floor of the theatre. These temporary dressing facilities will be equipped
with standard dressing room equipment such as adequate lighting, full-length
mirror and clothing rack. Restroom facilities located at the front of house
will be made available to performers and/or guest in the event of such change.

There are many fast food places in the Lumberton, Laurinburg, and Pembroke area. Beer and wine are not available in Pembroke. The best deal however is next door to the GPAC at the University Center. It is a very reasonable priced, "all you can eat" cafeteria. The hours are limited to standard breakfast, lunch and dinner times. There is usually a good selection of hot entrees, sandwiches, etc, desserts and a salad bar.
