Mission Statement for the Office of Financial Planning

  • To provide timely and accurate information and projections about fiscal resources in order to assist the University community in making fiscally sound decisions.
  • To provide guidance and assistance in development of a coordinated effort at both tactical and strategic planning for the continuing evolution of the institution.
  • To provide technical assistance in linking the planning and budgeting operations of the University, including participatory development, execution and review of the various University budgets.

BUDGET ADMINISTRATION

The Office of Budgets and Financial Planning at UNCP is a department within the unit of Business Affairs and reports directly to the Vice Chancellor for Business Affairs.The primary responsibility of the Office of Budgets and Financial Planning is to allocate and monitor all budgeted funds appropriated by the State of North Carolina General Assembly as further allocated and directed by the Board of Governors of the University of North Carolina System. In addition to responsibilities for state appropriated funds, the Office of Budgets and Financial Planning at UNCP also serves in assisting any and all areas in developing and administering a sound plan for supporting the Mission statement of UNCP. Accordingly, this responsibility includes providing necessary assistance to departments having Institutional Trust Funds authority.
