REVISED SMOKING POLICY:

The UNCP Smoking Policy has been revised to comply with the new General Statutes prohibiting smoking 100 feet from the perimeter of all State owned facilities including Residence Halls. Click here to read a copy of the General Statues.

A copy of the Smoking Policy can be found on the Policies & Procedures link on the Business Affairs web page.

Below you will find the campus map indicating the locations of smoking stations and the 100' perimeter around each facility. Signage is also being placed at the entrances.

Existing smoking stations (attached to the sides of facilities) are being left up at the entrance as a courtesy to visitors and will be systematically removed throughout fall semester.

Since this policy is self policing, we encourage everyone to carefully review the policy and adhere to the General Statutes.

2008 SUMMER PROJECTS:

Facilities Management completed several projects this summer:

1) You will find the newly refurbished parking lot 18A which is adjacent to the softball field.

2) New bleachers and concrete plaza were installed at the softball field.

3) New sidewalks parallel to Odum Road/Prospect Road now connect the existing sidewalks at Hawk Drive (north of Sampson Hall) and GPAC creating a continuous and accessible walk from/to southeast corner of campus to Village Apartments.

4) New campus lighting has been added and upgraded, including over 50 new light fixtures around both quads.

5) New concrete plaza is being constructed to replace the old brick pavers in front of DF Lowry and Locklear Hall. This plaza will connect to the access walks to Moore Hall and Livermore Library with wider more organic walks.

6) The Ebert Guest House was renovated and refurbished.

7) Installation of new LED sign at GPAC (Thanks Patricia Fields and Denise Carroll).

8) New landscaping in front and back of Lumbee Hall including planting beds and irrigation.

9) Lights were added along University Drive.

10) Replaced all old UNCP banners on campus.

11) Installed fencing at perimeter of intramural field.

12) New sidewalk and landscaping and irrigation installed between Auxiliary Services building and Jones Health & PE Complex.

We hope these projects will be utilized and enjoyed by all.
