La Voz del EspaÑol

La Voz de Español is a Spanish conversation club that is led by students and for the benefit of students. The purpose of the club is for students of all skill levels to come together to speak with one another outside the classroom in Spanish in an effort to practice and improve our speech.

Any and all are welcome to participate as the meetings take place every Monday from 1:30-2:30. By participating in group discussions in Spanish with only peers and no professors, students can easily gain confidence without the fear that naturally accompanies speaking in class. Club participants have mentioned a freedom to explore the language, since they don’t have to worry about being graded based on what they say.

Conversing outside of the classroom is very important because there is only a limited amount of time in which a student can speak during class, even with our small class sizes; professors still have to lecture.
