Andrew Hughes

My name is Andrew Hughes. I am a recent graduate of UNCP and I majored in Spanish. When I started, I did not know any Spanish at all. Now having gone through the program my Spanish is very good. Alongside my Spanish classes, I also took a French class and two Chinese classes. The faculty in the Foreign Language Department is excellent. All the professors are wonderful teachers and are always willing to help. There were times that I felt very discouraged with the progression of my Spanish, but every time there was always someone encouraging me to keep trying and helping me to understand the material. I am now a high school Spanish teacher and I can really see how studying Spanish at UNCP prepared me for my career.
