6:15 PM to 7:00 PM: In this activity you will explore meaning in complementary and contrasting body shapes, then create a phrase and sequence of movement. This activity deals with the use of complementary and contrasting shape in duos, but the concepts can be applied to solos and groups as well.
6:15 PM to 7:00 PM - Dance Room: Leg stretches are important for balletdancers. Stretching the muscles of the legs, especially the quadriceps, hamstrings and calves, will improve flexibility as well as help to prevent injury. It can also enhance your performance as a dancer.
11:00 AM to 1:00 PM - Chavis Center Annex Annex Assembly Room Honoring Native Foodways has four central goals: to celebrate Native American Heritage Month in November; to help UNCP students, faculty and staff honor, understand, and sample foods that are indigenous to the Americas; to emphasize healthy foods that have been part of traditional Indigenous diets for centuries, and which can still be easily prepared today; and to cultivate campus and community collegiality through that experience we all enjoy: eating!
6:15 PM to 7:15 PM - Dance RM: Aerobic fitness program featuring movements inspired by various styles of Latin American dance set to international beats
4:15 PM to 5:00 PM - Pool: is the performance of aerobic exercise in fairly shallow water such as in a swimming pool. Done mostly vertically and without swimming typically in waist deep or deeper water, it is a type of resistance training.
5:15 PM to 6:15 PM - Dance Rm: Build strength and endurance, particularly in the lower back, legs, and shoulders, and increase grip strength. The basic movements, such as the swing, snatch, and the clean and jerk, engage the entire body at once.
12:00 PM to 5:00 PM - Chavis University Center UC Conference Room 251 Campus Movie Fest was founded in 2001 by four then-students at Emory University.
5:00 PM to 11:00 PM - Outdoor Space Pine/Oak Courtyard Homecoming Spirit Fest sponsored by Housing and Residence Life and the Residence Hall Association features music, food, games, activities and giveaway and is a "spirited" kick-off to homecoming week!
12:30 PM to 2:30 PM - Chavis University Center UC Lounge SGA will host this event and bring together representatives from across campus to display the various resources available to first generations students.
