ABOUT THE LIBRARY COMPUTER LABTECH PROGRAM

What: The Library Computer LabTech Program is an initiative by the Division of Information Technology (DoIT) to employ students to assist all users of the computer lab located on the second floor of the Mary Livermore Library. These LabTechs will assist with software and hardware use, printing and answering questions as needed. They also assist residential students with troubleshooting their connection to ResNet, including problems with ports in the housing units. The pay begins at $7.25 per hour.

When: The students who are selected to be LabTechs would need to commit to at least 10 hours a week, in minimum of three hour blocks during evening and weekend hours. The technicians are required to work during holidays, school breaks and between semesters.

Where: The work will be on the second floor of the Mary Livermore Library of the UNCP campus and in student housing units when there are port problems.

Who: All UNCP students are eligible to apply, regardless of major, but must have some experience troubleshooting PC hardware and software.
