ABOUT Classroom/LabTech Program
What: The Classroom/Lab Tech Program is an initiative by the Division of Information Technology (DOIT) to employ students to serve the needs of computer users in Labs and Classrooms. Classroom/Lab Techs setup diagnose and repair computer systems in student labs and classrooms, install and troubleshoot software and hardware issues. Techs should also be able to troubleshoot and assist with AV technology. The technicians would not be required to work when school is not in session, but work may be available during school breaks. The pay begins at $7.25 per hour.
When: The students who are selected to be Classroom/Lab Techs would need to commit to at least 10 hours a week, in minimum of three hour blocks, and be able to lift at least 50lbs. Trainees are expected to work Monday through Friday.
Where: The training and all work will be at Carter Hall and UNCP campus.
Who: All UNCP students are eligible to apply, regardless of major, but must have some experience troubleshooting PC hardware or software.
