ABOUT BRAVETECH

What: The Brave Tech Program is an initiative by the Division of Information Technology (DoIT) to employ students to serve the needs of computer users on campus. These Brave Techs would diagnose and repair computer systems in offices and student labs, install and troubleshoot software and help with web page design and maintenance. The pay begins at $7.75 per hour.

When: Trainees are expected to work Monday through Friday. The trainees who are selected to be Brave Techs would need to commit at least 10 hours a week, in minimum of three hour blocks for the academic calendar year 2009-2010. The technicians would not be required to work when school is not in session, other than the initial training session, but some work may be available during school breaks.

Where: The training and all work will be on the UNCP campus and University Courtyard.

Who: All UNCP students are eligible to apply, regardless of major, but must have some experience troubleshooting PC hardware or software.
