SafeConnect Registration & Installation

 

Students living in University Housing residence halls, including Village Apartments and University Courtyard Apartments, can access Internet with a computer (via Ethernet cable) using the following instructions.

 

This must be done from within a housing unit listed above.

Using a Cat 5 or 6 Ethernet cable, connect the computer to the data port in the wall outlet (not the telephone port). If it doesn’t work, plug into another one. Open an Internet browser. The SafeConnect authentication page should automatically be displayed, but if not, try browsing to an off campus site.

Wireless must be turned off.

The following information applies to Windows PCs.

Mac users click here for instructions.

 

When the SafeConnect authentication page opens, login with your network (BraveWeb) username and password.

 

 

 

Install the SafeConnect Policy Key.

 

 

 

Run the ServiceInstaller.

 

 

 

After installation is complete, login to the SafeConnect authentication page again.

 

 

You will then have unlimited Internet access or be notified of any deficiencies in your system.
