Academic Support Services Subcommittee Report

Client Services

• Cindy Saylor, with Drs. Beverly King and Jennifer Bonds-Raacke, presented “The Importance of, and Resources for, Successful Strategic Planning” at the 28th Annual Conference of Academic Chairperson, Orlando, FL and published in the Proceedings of the 28th Annual Conference of Academic Chairpersons.
• 12 DoIT staff members attended week-long training for Microsoft’s Systems Center Configuration Manager (SCCM).
• A pilot test student kiosk has been set up at the UC Info Center to gather data about usage per a request by VC Jackie Clark.
• The official rollout of Windows 7/Office 2010 is scheduled to begin in early March with the faculty refresh and departmental computer refreshes. Final testing is being performed and early testers and adopters are being migrated as part of this final testing.
• A new Mac imaging process has been completed for dual boot where CS does not have to design each bootcamp image individually. This process should reduce CS staff time for creating a new image for a Mac model by approximately 75%.
