Download and install Filezilla Client: http://filezilla-project.org     

(Please take care to install the client and not the server software.)

Open the Site Manager and create an entry for each share you want to access.

The three entries below are for:

1. UNCP shared files – K: drive share.  Shared storage for groups/departments
2. UNCP student files – J: drive share.  Student individual storage and Instructor course folders
3. UNCP user files – I: drive share.  Users individual storage.

 

Settings are the same for each except for the Hostname:

1. UNCP shared files:
1. Host:  shared.facstaff.uncp.edu
2. Servertype:  FTP
3. Encryption: Require explicit FTP over TLS
4. Logontype:  Ask for password
5. User:  username
2. UNCP student files:
1. Host:  users.student.uncp.edu
2. Servertype:  FTP
3. Encryption: Require explicit FTP over TLS
4. Logontype:  Ask for password
5. User:  username
3. UNCP user files:
1. Host:  users.facstaff.uncp.edu
2. Servertype:  FTP
3. Encryption: Require explicit FTP over TLS
4. Logontype:  Ask for password
5. User:  username

 

Use the Site Manager connection button to connect.  Do Not Use the Quickconnect bar.

Enter password when prompted:

You may be prompted to accept the university's security certificate as seen below. If you are, please accept it.

You may now click and drag files to or from the server to your local pc using the "local" and "remote site" panes in the bottom half of the application.
