Step-by-Step: Changing Passwords

Your UNCP network password is the password you use to access the campus network, UNCP email, Blackboard, BraveWeb and any UNCP Web pages which you have rights to edit.

Changing Your Password via BraveWeb

  1. Users can change their password via BraveWeb (braveweb.uncp.edu). When going to BraveWeb, select Change Password from the top-left corner.

BraveWeb

  1. Users will be offered the option to change their password using their current password, or by answering the questions they created when they setup their network account. [The second option -- security questions -- applies only to students at this time.]

BraveWeb

Faculty and staff should select “Using your current password” and enter the requested information. If you cannot remember your current password, or students cannot successfully answer their security questions, please stop by the DoIT Helpdesk to have your password reset. When visiting the Helpdesk to have your password reset, please bring a photo ID.

On Campus Faculty and Staff

  2. Click the button “Change Password” (at the bottom left hand corner). The Change Password box appears. On the left side of the box your network user name and your computer user name will appear highlighted in gray. On the right side is the place to change your current password.

  3. Click on the space for Old Password and type your current password here.

  4. Tab or click to New Password and type in your new password.
    NOTE: See the password requirements.

  5. Tab or click to Confirm New Password and type your new password in again.

  6. Click OK.

NOTE: Any other computer that you use that is connected to the network needs to be synchronized with your new network password. It does not apply to Macs.
