Online degree in business administration

All students intending to pursue the B.S.B.A., management track, online, must ensure that they transfer in all of UNCP's general education requirements (including two hours of physical education)in order to complete the degree online. UNCP will offer all of the management courses necessary for the degree online, but non-major courses are not necessarily available online.

Requirements for a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration: Management


Community College Courses
General Education Core (44 SHC) Forty-four semester hours of credit in general education core courses are required as outlined on the NCCCS Curriculum Standards for Associate in Arts degree programs. The general education core includes study in the areas of humanities and fine arts, social and behavioral sciences, natural sciences and mathematics, and English composition.
English composition (6 SHC) Two English composition courses are required.
ENG 111. Expository Writing
The second composition course must be selected from the following:
ENG 112. Argument-Based Research
ENG 113. Literature-Based Research
ENG 114. Professional Research and Reporting
Humanities/Fine Arts (12 SHC**) Four courses from three discipline areas are required. One course must be a literature course. Three additional courses from the following discipline areas are required: music, art, drama, dance, foreign language, interdisciplinary humanities, literature, philosophy, and religion.
Social/Behavioral Sciences (12 SHC)
At least one course must be a history course.
Three additional courses from the following discipline areas are required: anthropology, economics, geography, history, political science, psychology, and sociology.
Natural Sciences/Mathematics (14 SHC minimum)
Natural Sciences (8 SHC) Select at least (2) courses including the accompanying labs from the biological and physical sciences.
Mathematics (6 SHC)
The following course is recommended:
MAT 171. Precalculus Algebra (3 SHC)
The following course is required:
MAT 263 Brief Calculus and MAT 263A Brief Calculus Lab (4SHC) or
MAT 271 Calculus I and MAT 271A Calculus I Lab (4SHC)
