She earned her PhD in Developmental Psychology at Purdue University and was an Associate Professor in the Psychology department at UNCP from 2003 until 2007 when she joined the IE office. She holds Association of Institutional Research certificates in both The Practice of Institutional Research, and Applied Statistics for Institutional Research, Planning, and Management. | |

Joining the faculty in 1996, Dr. Simmons has taught 20+ different undergraduate and graduate courses. She received the University’s Outstanding Teaching Award in 2005. Her areas of research interest include teacher leadership, differentiated instruction, and online pedagogy. |
