2006 - 2007 ANNUAL REPORT

Promoted staff morale, fellowship

  1. Employee of the Quarter and Year program
  2. 1 st Annual Watermelon Social (August 1)
  3. Employee Bash (Oct. 12)
  4. Holiday Dinner (Dec. 12)
  5. Participated in Homecoming week long activities
  6. Staff Spring Cookout at the UC (May 10)
  7. Assisted HR with Retirement Brunch program
  8. Published 1 st Staff/Faculty Cookbook in December

Worked for staff welfare

  1. Advised implementation of N.C. mandated staff pay raise
  2. Increase staff representation on several campus committees: In-Range, Traffic Control, Traffic Appeals, Career Banding, SPARC, Interior Design, Physical Environment, UNCP Healthy Braves
  3. Added $1,000 to staff scholarship (non-endowed)
  4. Distributed five book scholarship awards ($100 each)
  5. Robeson County Fair tickets generated $153 for book scholarship

Collaborated with Chancellor and Executive Staff

  1. Met with Chancellor (July 27)
  2. Hosted Chancellor's Forum with staff/faculty (January 19)
  3. Assisted HR on career banding and pay policies
  4. Assisted Advancement in successful fundraising for naming of Head Football Coach's Office

Assured continuity and integrity of Staff Council

  1. Held Staff Council elections May 10
  2. Fund balance of $1,508.14 as of June 30, 2006
  3. Constitution update; re-write in progress

Maintained communication with staff

  1. Updated Staff Council Web site
  2. Participated in Pembroke Day
  3. Coordinated with Brave Bulletin for publicity of events, functions
  4. Placed Staff Council calendar on University Calendar

Raised image of staff with wider campus and community, Board of Trustees, UNC Office of the President, Board of Governors, UNC Staff Forum, General Assembly, Governor, and SENAC.

  1. Implemented 275 hours of community service projects & coordinated two Canned Food Drives at Holiday & Cook-out events.
  2. Chaperoned Handicap Children's Day at the Robeson County Fair
  3. Volunteered two clean-up days at local outdoor drama
  4. Endorsed Faculty/Staff Campaign for Football
  5. Participated in 1 st year of UNC Staff Forum
  6. Participated in State Employees Combined Campaign
