Student Employment

The Center for Leadership and Service advertises employment oportunities to eligible Federal Work Study (FWS) students. Students use FWS to serve and address Community Service (CS) needs. Students who do not qualify for FWS-CS may volunteer at local community agencies and organizations.

• STUDENT SERVICE LEADERS
  The Center for Leadership & Service is seeking reliable, dependable, and motivated students to work as Student Service Leaders. Applicants should be eligible for Federal Work Study (FWS), have good communication skills, passion for service and enjoy working with people. Selected students may receive additional compensation to the FWS for community service involvement.

• COMMUNITY WORKERS
  Community agencies and organizations are seeking dependable, motivated service interested students to work as Community Work Study Student. Applicants should be eligible for Federal Work Study (FWS), have reliable transportation and enjoy working with people. Selected students may receive additional compensation to the FWS for community service involvement.
  
• Literacy Education Tutors (15)
  After training, students will tutor public schools students individually or in small groups. School site availability is at the discretion of the school otherwise it is the student’s choice. Tutors are trained in the areas of reading, writing, phonics, vocabulary, lesson planning and homework help. A criminal background check is required for service and interaction with minors under 18 years old.
• Community Service Associates (10)
  Students will assist non-profit and community agencies to provide services and administer activities. Applicants should have good administrative, organization, and communication skills, passion for service and enjoy working with people. Duties and responsibilities will vary as determined by the community agency. A criminal background check is required for service and interaction with minors under 18 years old.
  

UNCP Student Volunteer Program

There are over 125 community organizations in Robeson and surrounding counties that receive student volunteers. Students can volunteer in an area of interest to serve a community need. <more>
